A Voice Unheard

It is to those who have been silenced that I dedicate this piece. I’m here to tell you that you matter. It is okay to be different. You are not alone. I too have been silenced. I have been told that I didn’t matter. I have been told that I wasn’t worth it. I have been told that my voice shouldn’t be heard. And yet, I am still here. I’m still using my voice because I have value. I deserve to be heard.

When people try to silence your voice, when they tell you that no one cares to hear from you, that you have nothing to offer, they are stripping away a piece of your humanity. Those that try to silence you have shown themselves to be small people. Do not stoop to their level, and do not let them force you to your knees. You can’t control how they treat you, but you can still stand tall and proclaim that your voice will not be unheard.

To those who have been silenced - may you see your value and what you have to offer this world. You deserve to be heard.
